Job Title: Building Administrator

Job Type: Part-Time

Hours: 12-16 hours per week (5pm - 9pm, 3-4 nights a week), plus on-call hours up to 4 hours per week.

Position Overview:

St. Paul's Ocean Grove Church is seeking a dedicated Church Sexton to join our team. This role is crucial in maintaining the church's facilities, ensuring a welcoming and well-kept environment for worship, meetings, and events. The Church Sexton will perform a variety of tasks ranging from midweek greeting, handyman work, event setup and breakdown, light cleaning, and more. The ideal candidate is a practicing Christian and demonstrates a commitment to our community's spiritual and physical well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facility Maintenance and Cleaning: Conduct light cleaning duties, including taking out the garbage and recycling every night worked. Perform minor repairs and touch-ups, such as painting and fixing minor issues, to maintain the building's appearance and functionality.

  • Event Support: Efficiently set up for church events and meetings, and break down afterward. This includes arranging furniture, setting up necessary equipment, and ensuring spaces are clean and ready for use.

  • Supply Management: Order, replace, and restock essential supplies, including toilet paper, soap, air fresheners, etc., to ensure the facility is well-equipped for all who use it.

  • Building Log and Communication: Maintain a detailed building log for the Board of Trustees, reporting any necessary repairs or concerns. Communicate effectively with the Board regarding the building's maintenance needs and any urgent issues.

  • Storage Organization: Clean out, organize, and maintain various storage spaces within the church, ensuring items are properly stored and easily accessible.

  • Inspections and Contractor Liaison: Be present for building inspections and oversee contractors' work within the church, ensuring repairs and maintenance are completed according to standards.

  • Oversight of the contracted cleaning company.

  • Volunteer Coordination: Work with and build volunteer teams to assist in caring for the facility, leveraging the community's strengths to maintain and enhance the church's environment.

Qualifications:

  • A practicing Christian with a desire to actively participate in the life of St. Paul's Ocean Grove Church through worship and small groups.

  • Basic knowledge of building maintenance and handyman skills.

  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with others, including volunteers and church staff.

  • Flexible availability, including nights and on-call hours.

  • Team builder with skill set to recruit, train, and equip volunteers for effective ministry.

Hours: 20 hours per week (10 AM - 2 PM, Monday through Friday)

Position Overview:

St. Paul's Ocean Grove Church seeks a highly organized, motivated, and mission-driven Church Office Administrator to join our team. This role is essential in facilitating the smooth operation of the church office, supporting our staff, and providing a warm and welcoming environment for our congregation and visitors. The Office Administrator will play a key role in communication, coordination, and support of church activities, working closely with the pastoral team to foster the growth of our ministries. The ideal candidate is a professing and practicing Christian with a desire to contribute to the life and mission of St. Paul's Ocean Grove Church.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administrative Support: Handle daily administrative tasks including correspondence, answering phone calls, greeting visitors, and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere in the church building.

  • Visitor Connection: Engage with new visitors from various ministries, understanding the church's mission and guiding individuals to connect with appropriate ministry opportunities.

  • Pastoral Support: Work directly with the Pastor and Executive Pastor, providing administrative support as the ministry grows and evolves.

  • Staff Coordination: Assist in supporting the church staff, ensuring they have the resources and information needed to fulfill their roles effectively, including weekly attendance at staff meetings.

  • Database Management: Maintain the church's membership and activity database, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.

  • Communication Materials: Synchronize print bulletins, calendars, and event listings, ensuring consistency across all church communications.

  • Promotional Material: Oversee distribution of promotional materials for church events and ministries.

  • Ministry Supplies: Coordinate the ordering and distribution of supplies necessary for worship services (e.g., envelopes, bulletins, prayer cards) and midweek activities, ensuring volunteers and staff are well-equipped.

  • Management of mail and files for record-keeping.

Qualifications:

  • A professing and practicing Christian with a desire to be an active part of St. Paul's Ocean Grove Church.

  • Excellent organizational and administrative skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with a friendly and professional demeanor.

  • Experience in office administration or a related field, preferably within a church or non-profit setting.

  • Proficiency in database management and office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace).

  • Creative skills in producing promotional materials and managing content for print and digital media.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with church staff, volunteers, and the congregation.

  • Team builder with skill set to recruit, train, and equip volunteers for effective ministry.

Job Title: Anchored Kids Director

Job Type: Part-Time, hourly pay scale is negotiable based on experience. 3 hours on Sunday mornings required. 7-9 hours per week of prep time, communication, and relational ministry.

Hours: 10-12 hours per week

Position Overview:

St. Paul's Ocean Grove Church is seeking a dedicated Anchored Kids Director to join our team. We’re interested in a ministry director that will help our church grow. Above all, we hope to find someone experienced in leading children, who can easily engage with and communicate with Gen Z and Gen Alpha, and who has a strong love for families. In addition, we seek someone who can attract and retain new kids and families, manage teams of volunteers, and have a mature relationship with the Lord. Sharing your love for Jesus and spreading His Word and the gospel will be the pillars of your work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee Anchored Kids in totality, including managing a team of volunteers.

  • Share a profound love of Jesus with the children of our church and community.

  • Motivate the children in their commitment and connection to the body of Christ.

  • Pursue growth for every child and set a goal to see each child actively grow in their faith.

  • Develop an engaging Sunday morning ministry that reaches each child on their level using our curriculum, Orange

  • Act as the point person and a partner for communication with parents

  • Train and encourage adult leadership to lead Sunday mornings

  • Oversee the annual children’s ministry budget in a way that effectively utilizes church resources and maximizes ministry opportunities.

  • Participate in the regular community life of a child outside of Sunday morning - attending soccer games, band concerts, gymnastics meets, etc.

  • Participate regularly in weekend worship services

  • Serve in outreach events and within other ministries as needed

  • Recruit, train, and equip an adult leadership team to effectively serve in Kids Ministry, as well as walk alongside your team and build relationships with and among them.
